Thermal Design
We specialise in the thermal design of heat recovery and boiler plant equipment. This includes new plant as well efficiency improvement of older plant and typically covers:
- Superheater, Combustion chamber, Air heater, Economiser, Deaerator design
- Development of new products / concepts
- Efficiency and heat balance calculations
Boiler modelling to check and verify critical design parameters
pressure part equipment. Under SANS 347, the hazard category of the contained fluid is determined and from that the level of design assurance is determined (for instance, Hazard Category IV equipment needs to be signed off by an AIA).
Tekniva's designs comply fully with all the requirements of PER and SANS 347.

Pressure Part Design (incl. PER and SANS 347)
We specialise in the detail design and fabrication of pressure part components, e.g. fire tube and water tube boiler components, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pressure vessels and pre- & post boiler components. This typically includes the lay-out, flexibility and stress analysis of high temperature steam lines.
Our service covers custom built plant as well as modifications to existing plant, plant upgrades and refurbishment projects.
